About Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapist help people across the lifespan participate in activities that they want and need to do on a daily basis through therapeutic use of everyday activities. For children, the focus is on enhancing overall development and improving independence using an individualized, child-driven approach. Occupational therapy includes an initial evaluation during which the OT determines your child’s strengths/weaknesses and specific goals to work towards during therapy. An individualized treatment plan will be established that best fits your child’s needs in order to improve their overall function and make progress towards set goals. Outcomes, evaluations and reassessments are utilized to ensure that goals are being met and/ or changes are being made to treatment plans as necessary.
